Hello Bulldog Family,

“…and the government shall be upon His shoulders. He shall be called Wonderful Counselor”  

It is the most wonderful time of the year. We get to celebrate the fruition of our Lord and Savior, “Happy Birthday Jesus”. We have three short weeks to prepare for our annual Christmas musicals. The Christmas Music Recital is Friday, December 13th at 8:30am. Preschool will have its program Tuesday, December 17th at 10am and K-8th grades will have their musical Thursday, December 19th at 10am. Please mark your calendars for these festive events and make sure to join us. 

I want to give another huge congratulations to our flag football team. They were undefeated this season and we could not be prouder. Huge thanks to Coach Dorsey and Coach Jason for their diligence, time and patience. A big shout out to our cheerleaders, have you seen them? They definitely bring the spirit!

Chapel this Friday, December 6th will be our Color Run Awards! PTF President Mrs. Natalie Robideaux will announce how much we raised this year and how we are going to use the funds. Chapel begins at 8:30am.

Two weeks ago Bethany School had its annual fire inspection. Not only did we pass, but Inspector Napp was very impressed with our school and our response to the drill. As you may know, Bethany School is a locked campus and I am always looking for ways to improve. In a continued effort to increase the safety of our campus I am implementing new safety measures. Please see below;

• School begins at 8:15am. Gates will be locked promptly for both Preschool and Elementary.
  • Preschool: If you arrive late, you will have to enter through the main office, sign your child in, and you will have to wait for a Preschool teacher to come and take your child to class.
  • K-8: If you arrive late, your child will need to receive an ‘excused’ or ‘unexcused’ admit slip before going to class.
  • Continued tardiness is not acceptable and disrupts learning.

• For daytime programs you will be able to enter through the sanctuary. Once the program begins, doors will be locked and you will have to enter through the main office, sign in, and receive a Visitor’s badge.
• When attending weekly Chapel, you will need to enter through the main office, sign in and receive a Visitor’s badge.
• All visitors wanting to come on campus must check in the office and receive a Visitor’s badge. 

The safety of the entire campus is of utmost importance. Thank you for partnering with me by arriving a little earlier, driving a bit slower, and exercising a measure of patience.

Thank you to all who contributed to the canned food drive that benefitted the Long Beach Rescue Mission. You were able to bless many for Thanksgiving and more for this holiday season! There is still time to give this season. The Toy Drive benefiting the Department of Children and Family Services is due by Tomorrow December 4th. Lastly, we have the Clothing Drive that all profits raised will go towards helping the 8th graders go on their East Coast Trip. Please CLICK HERE to see the flyer or social media for specifics.

Studies show there are benefits when students transition learning from a classroom setting to hands-on learning off campus. It is the experience that enhances and stimulates the synapses within the brain for retained learning. Below are field trips students have already experienced within the first ten weeks of school.

• Preschool – ‘Tanaka Farms’/Planting and Growing
• Kindergarten – ‘Pretend City’/Community Helpers (Future Focused)
• 2nd grade – ‘Tanaka Farms’/Agriculture and Harvesting
• 3rd grade – Rancho Los Alamitos / California History
• Middle School (8th grade) – ‘The Museum Of Tolerance’/History
• Middle School – ‘The Pantages Theater’, WICKED/ Performing Arts

Our last day of school before Christmas break is Thursday, December 19th. Preschool – 8th grade will be out at noon and no daycare will be available. Please plan accordingly. We will be closed from December 20th – January 5th and look forward to seeing you January 6th at 8:15am.
