Letters From Tonia

The Message of our Savior’s Birth Remains the Good News!

Bethany Family,

Christmas in Southern California looks a lot different than the mid-west or even the south, but the message of our Savior’s birth remains the good news! We have so much to be thankful for, yet at times, we seem to take it for granted. We get caught up with the hustle and bustle and demands of life and forget to slow down and be grateful.

Your children are healthy
You have a place to live
There is food for your family
…you are blessed.

Through our collective efforts we raised $118,042 at this year’s Color Run. Thanks to our PTF President Nicole Cecil and her team, we reached record breaking numbers. Mrs. Cecil will keep you updated with the improvements of our campus aesthetically and internally from donations received.

Also, thank you for your food donations to the Long Beach Rescue Mission. Because of your generosity, we were able to help feed over 1200 people on Thanksgiving Day.

In addition to the fun holiday parties in classrooms, this month is quick and jammed packed with great events for you to come and enjoy.

 December 3rd – Bethany Church and School are hosting the Long Beach Community Band from 5-7pm. Join us as we bring in holiday cheer with traditional songs of holiday joy. It will be a festive event. Bring your family, bring a friend.

 December 5th-7th – Bethany Church and School are partnering with DCFS (Department of Child and Family Services). Please bring in a new unwrapped toy that will bring joy to those less fortunate this holiday season.

 December 8th – Please join us at the ‘Winds & Strings Christmas Chapel’. Our music instructor, Oscar Martinez, has been working with the entire student body. They have a delightful instrumental holiday performance celebrating the birth of Christ with holiday songs.

 December 19th – Mrs. Gina and Bethany Preschool are bringing in the Christmas spirit with their show entitled ‘Let’s Celebrate’. Doors will open at 9:30am and the show starts promptly at 10:00am. I want to see you there.

 December 21st – Our K-8th grade students are going to bless you with a holiday performance entitled ‘The Big Announcement’ and ‘Three Wise Men and a Baby’. Doors will open at 9:30am and the show begins promptly at 10:00am. All are welcome, all are invited.

 December 21st – This is our last day of school before the holiday break. It is a school wide NOON dismissal. There is no daycare available. Our campus will be closed from Friday, December 22nd through Friday, January 5th for Christmas break. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”  Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
