Letters From Tonia

He is Risen!

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 NIV

Hello Parents,

Next week is Spring Break and when we return, we will have nine weeks of school left. There’s still much to accomplish and I am encouraging every student to finish the school year strong.

Bethany School has an opportunity to be a blessing to those less fortunate. Pastor Jeff Levine, Executive Director of the Long Beach Rescue Mission (LBRM), is collecting prepackaged Easter baskets for disadvantaged students in the community and students from Roosevelt Elementary School. The goal is 850 baskets. I believe this goal is attainable and we can achieve it with your help. Baskets can be dropped off with your child at school or in the school office. The final collection day is this Thursday, April 6th. It only takes a second to make a difference in the life of a child.

State testing for grades 2nd through middle school begins the final week of April. Parents, you can contribute to your child’s success by making sure he/she receives plenty of rest each night, he/she begins the day with a healthy breakfast along with words of encouragement. You will receive more information from your child’s teacher as we get closer.

There are many Resurrection parties taking place this week to celebrate the fruition of our faith as Christians. We will end the week with an Awards Chapel on Friday followed with Preschool singing songs about the birth of our Savior. Parents you are always welcome to attend Friday chapels. They begin at 8:30am. Also don’t forget, this Friday we close at 12pm school wide, preschool through 8th grade, and there is no daycare.

It’s coming! The Diamond Jubilee takes place Friday, April 28th at the Long Beach Airport Marriott. There will be memorabilia, dinner and a wonderful program to celebrate the school’s history as we reflect the past, embrace the present and in faith look to the future of Bethany School. Spoiler alert, a special award will be presented to the school from the City of Long Beach. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime event! Please click on the link or visit www.bethany.school/75 for more information and to purchase your tickets. We also have sponsor opportunities for your businesses! Due to seating, I am kindly asking that tickets be purchased by April 21st as we must give final headcount to the venue.

Just a reminder…
– School Uniforms: Jackets and/or sweaters must be school colors unless it is raining.
– Drop Off: Please slow down when driving along the frontage street and watch out for pedestrians. Again, SLOW DOWN for the safety of others.
– Summer Registration: K through 5th grade can enroll (future 1st through 6th Grade), for Bethany’s action packed seven week summer program. And, don’t forget Preschool – PreK’s eight week program!
– Fall Registration: There is limited space for the fall 2023-2024 school year.

God continues to do a “new thing” at Bethany. His favor is upon us and He continues to bless and protect our campus. Parents, I am grateful to you. My heart is for the success and growth of every student on campus. We love our calling to Christian education and with much patience and consistency we will insure the success of every child, academically, socially, and spiritually.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Tonia Hill
