Hello Bethany Bulldog Family,
Welcome Back To School! I have the opportunity to begin a new school year with your child(ren) and I am honored. The word for this school year is ‘Faithful’ and our partnering Bible verse is Lamentations 3:22-23, “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”.
God has been faithful to Bethany School. Enrollment continues to increase and God continues to expand my reach of influence allowing my staff and I to make a difference in the life of every student; academically, socially and Spiritually. We are a Future Focused campus. This simply means, ‘We prepare and empower students to believe in Christ, achieve academic excellence, and succeed in knowing their purpose in life’. It is our mission to ensure every student thrives in a safe learning environment.
I trust you were able to attend the Orientation(s) earlier this month for either Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, or all three. Bethany has adopted a new information system allowing us to effectively communicate with you. I heard your concerns, and we have incorporated Blackbaud as our one stop shop for all communication, preschool through 8th grade. Please be patient as we work out minimal kinks adapting to this new program. For more information visit Blackbaud instructions.
We also have a new PTF President, Mrs. Natalie Robideaux. She will continue in the success of her predecessor Mrs. Nicole Cecil while embracing the position and making it her own. She can’t do it by herself; parents, she needs your support. More information to come.
Below is a reminder about some very important dates I want you to be aware of.
● 9/05 ‘First Day of School’
Every Thursday is Bethany Swag Day. Students can wear any Bethany shirt in lieu of the Bethany Polo. School begins at 8:15am for the entire school campus. For the first day of school there is no AM or PM daycare for elementary and middle school. Every Thursday is a 2pm dismissal. On the first day of school, all elementary and middle school students must be picked up by 3:30pm.
Preschool hours remain the same; daycare begins at 6:30am and final pick up at 6pm.
● 9/10 ‘Back To School Night’
This event is from 6-7:30pm, preferably parents only. Come and hear specifically from your child’s teacher how to have a successful school year. This is a school wide event. For the safety of our campus everyone must enter through the elementary/middle school drop off area. There will be two sessions for parents with two or more students.
● 9/11 ‘Remembering 911’
Students can opt out of wearing the required Bethany uniform and wear red, white, and blue in honor of those whose lives were tragically taken.9/20 ‘PTF Community Kick Off’ featuring the Long Beach Community Band. This event is from 5:30-7:30pm. Bring your family, friends, lawn chairs and an appetite. Natalie Robideaux and her team will serve dinner at this free fun event. Student Council will be present with special items for sell as they raise money for their annual Disney Leadership Conference. It will be a fun evening connecting with other Bethany families.
On the first day of school, your child’s teacher will be collecting the summer enrichment packet. If your child turns in a completed packet, he/she will receive a sno-cone after school. There is still time to get those packets completed.
This year Bethany School is partnering with Webby Dance to offer cheerleading. We want to support our sports department; basketball, volleyball, and flag football. Please click on the link for more information.
Parents, I ask that you partner with my staff and I by doing the following daily; provide your child with the most important meal of the day – breakfast, arrive at school on time (before 8:15am), and have your child ready for the rigors that will be presented each day. These life skills will have far reaching benefits beyond Bethany School.
