Letters From Tonia

End of the First Semester

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.  Psalm 37:25

Dear Bethany Family,

We have completed the first semester of school and God has completely provided and met our needs as a school community.  I have learned no matter the season, God always provides.

The month of February is filled with many activities and events.  Please make sure to open and read all emails in My School Worx, check Class Dojo, and read fliers that come home so that you do not miss out.  An updated calendar for this month is attached in My School Worx.

Of the many events taking place this month the Scholastic Book Fair is a fan favorite.  Our wonderful Librarian Mrs. Arlene Gale has put together an exciting month filled with contests, school wide events, and special days for Mothers, Fathers and Grandparents all for the love of READING.  The theme this year is ‘Time Machine’.  There will be a bookmark contest, poster contest and a time machine contest. Thursday, February 18th students can come to school dressed up as his/her favorite book or character.  Prizes will be given for best costumes.  Teachers will be in costumes as well, including me.  Mrs. Arlene is in need of volunteers to make our fair a success.  Please inform your child’s teacher or leave your information in the main office if you are available to help.

Thank you for filling out the Letter Of Intent.  This form allows me to adequately plan and staff for the summer and upcoming fall school year.  Our goal as educators is to spark an interest in learning, build confidence in one’s identity in Christ, and empower each student to plot a course for their future.  I am aware public schools are planning to reopen in the fall but they will reopen with students who have been off campus for over a year.  The challenges of getting students ‘caught up’ to their grade level partnered with large classroom sizes can pose a huge disadvantage to the quality of learning for students.  Bethany School has maintained a high level of commitment to provide exceptional learning in a safe and nurturing environment.  We have never compromised the integrity of your child’s academia.  I ask that you allow us to continue the growth of your child academically, socially and Spiritually.

Going home this Friday, February 5th are registration packets for the fall and information for the summer – Preschool through 8th grade. (Report cards for K-8th grades will not be included in the packets.  Report cards will go home on Friday, February 26th.)  Please pay attention to the early bird discount on both summer and fall registration.  February 22nd begins open registration to the public.

I look forward to seeing all students this Monday, February 1st. K-8 parents please remember to fill out the COVID-19 Student Survey each morning.  We are a Future Focused campus.  My staff and I are preparing and empowering students to believe in Christ, achieve academic excellence, and succeed in knowing their purpose in life.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Tonia Hill, Principal
