This letter is regarding Bethany’s school closure from Tuesday, January 19th through Friday, January 29th (Monday, January 18th is a school holiday.)
Los Angeles Department of Public Health issued a 3-week school closure for the weeks of January 11th through January 29th. We too must do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Some of you have already elected to keep your child at home, “Thank You”. Again, I would like to commend your partnership with the staff and I in keeping our students, staff and campus safe.
Parents, if you are an Essential Employee, our campus will be opened during school closure from 6:30 to 1:30pm. Again, this accommodation is being made only for students whose parents are Essential Employees. If your child will be on campus, you must still complete the daily COVID-19 Student Screening Form. All students must arrive by 8:15am. Please make sure your child arrives with his/her work assignment(s) for the day along with a snack and lunch. Your child’s teacher will supply you with a curriculum packet this Friday along with detailed information concerning Zoom meetings, reading schedules, math instruction, office hours, and more: It is not just for one hour. Make sure your child brings all of his/her supplies needed for the day in order to be successful. If an IPad or chrome book is needed, please make sure they bring it as well. If you are in need of an IPad or chrome book, please contact your child’s teacher tomorrow (Wednesday).
Students of Essential Workers on campus will be proctored in class by our fantastic school Aides. They will be here to merely assist your child in completing what is required of them for the day. Parents, it is your job to make sure all assignments are completed, as they will be graded. Again, make sure to remain in touch with your child’s teacher.
If you have purchased lunches through Choice Lunch for the next two weeks and your child will not be on campus, please email and/or call them to cancel your lunch order. You will receive a credit to your account.
Parents, thank you for adhering to and complying with the requests above. Again, I ask that only students whose parents are Essential Workers attend. Thank you in advance for your compliance.
Mrs. Tonia Z. Hill
