Celebrating 75 Years of Christian Education: Welcome to Bethany School

Dear Bethany Families,

I am excitedly preparing for the 2022-2023 school year. As Bethany School embarks upon its 75th year in education, the word this year is Encouragement. It is our ‘diamond’ year and as a landmark in the Long Beach Community my staff and I are encouraged to continue in the rich tradition of meeting every student’s needs; academically, socially and Spiritually. I am so grateful you have made Bethany School your school of choice.

As I prepare for the fall school year, please remember to save the following date(s);
 Mandatory Orientation & Breakfast – Preschool, Saturday, August 6th 8:30am
 Mandatory Orientation & Breakfast – Kindergarten-8th Grade, Staurday, August 13th 8:30am

The Orientation sets the tone for the school year with an abundance of information to help you navigate successfully. You will receive the following information;
 Curriculum
 New changes both aesthetically and with staffing
 Student placement
 Information about our ‘Diamond’ year
 Parent Teacher Fellowship
 and so much more!

(SPOILER ALERT: Preschool will now have Spanish as part of their curriculum and K-8 will have both Spanish and Music added to their curriculum)

As you may know Mrs. Kristen Huff, our Opportunity Education Specialist, relocated with her family to Texas. She has made many contributions to our students and is going to be missed. Taking her place is Mrs. Michelle Veazey. Mrs. Veazey has already settled into her role as Bethany’s new Education Specialist and is making positive strides with students and families who currently receive these services. More information to come.

Parents because we are celebrating our 75th year, the school uniform logo has been changed. Additionally, we have added the color gray to our polos. The new logo is being sent to Tommy Hilfiger and Coastline Stitches. More information to be discussed at the Orientation.

Attention all Bulldog Athletes! Another big kudos to our girls’ varsity basketball team for winning the 2022-2023 CAL Basketball Championship! Under the leadership of Mr. Al Dorsey, we are continuing in sports excellence. In addition to basketball and flag football, we will offer volleyball this school year. If your student athlete is interested, Mr. Dorsey is meeting with all parents and students Monday, August 8th on campus 9am. Please plan to attend for more information.

Lastly, it is of the utmost importance the school office has your correct email address, mailing address and any updated phone number information. We want you to remain connected all school year long. Please take the time to go onto My School Worx to update your information.

I look forward to seeing you at the Preschool and/or K-8 Orientations.

It truly is a great year to be a Bethany Bulldog,

Mrs. Tonia Hill

Principal
